Encore is a small hobby exhibitor kennel located in Plantation Country just East of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have been involved with Aussies since 1988, before they were AKC recognized, and love the breed. Our Aussies are both ASCA and AKC registered and all breeding dogs are evaluated for soundness, temperament and provided health clearances including: OFA hips and elbows, eye clearances, MDR1 gene, Hereditary Cataract Gene, and Pelger Huet anamoly.
We breed very rarely and only when we want to add to our own family. Each litter is carefully planned and thought out with attention given to producing the most well balanced and healthy Aussie puppy.
Encore dogs can be found in performance, conformation, working and companion homes.

My first Aussie was an NSDR registered red merle bitch named Mocha. Mocha practically raised my kids and was the perfect nanny. I also had a wonderful rescue dog named River. River and I did therapy at the local middle school where he worked with profoundly disabled children.

In 1998 I was fortunate to meet Karen Broadus of Marquis Kennels and she became my friend and mentor. It was through her and her kennel partner, Jo Kell of Rockin K, that Encore Aussies was born. We were fortunate to lease a puppy out of CH Marquis Tailor Maid and ROMX CH Marquis Hot Gem for Rockin K, Marquis Maid Sarah, CD. Sarah and Neal (CH Marquis Surenuf for Rockin K) produced our foundation, Demi (Encore's Sure Maid for Me, CGC, HT, STDd).

The above pic is of CH Encore's Gem of Rockin K, "Gem", who is a grandson on the sire side and great grandson on the dam side of the original Gem. As you can see, they are pretty much twins! Lil Gem finished his Championship with three five point majors.

Demi was much more than the foundation of Encore, she was my best friend, constant companion and confidant, seeing me through some really tough challenges in my life. She dabbled in conformation, stock and obedience. Demi was a great mother and passed on much of her joy and a touch of her quirkiness just to make things fun! Thirteen years was simply not enough!
